Kansas City Nature Works is working to help reconnect Kansas City’s urban core to the Blue River through safer access, stronger stewardship, and a more visible relationship with nature close to home.

The current campaign supports the vision for an inner-city kayak launch on the Blue River — a practical first step toward making the river feel more accessible, welcoming, and connected to the communities that already live alongside it.

This effort is about more than one launch point. It is about helping people see the river differently, experience it more directly, and build stronger care for the natural spaces around them.

With stronger public access comes stronger public awareness. With awareness comes stewardship. And with stewardship comes a more beautiful, more connected Kansas City.
